The Apparatus Room: The Golden Now of Detroit

There’s this famous bar & restaurant in Detroit which recently gained popularity. It’s called The Apparatus Room. This bar is inside The Foundation Hotel.

Apparently, the hotel was a former firehouse, and the so called bar used to be the space where the fire engines were parked. It was beautifully restored and even had a very intriguing architectural details.

My sister and I got the chance to visit The Apparatus Room after seeing a musical play at the Fox Theater. I was impressed straightaway the moment we walked into this bistro.

It had a very cool lighting. There were couches, tables, a long bar and a fireplace. We wanted to seat at the comfy looking chairs surrounding a small fireplace but those seats were already occupied.

We just sat at the long bar. Unfortunately, we were not able to order for food because it was almost closing time when we arrived. We were told that they can only serve drinks.

The cocktails and wine list were good. I had a Stroh's Original-Detroit Bohemian Pilsner. I don’t know what my sister ordered. It was like a cocktail with Bailey’s as the base.

The whole area was impressive from the bar to the actual restaurant plus the lighting and the furniture. Everything was amazing. It is definitely a cool hang out place. I only wish that we could have eaten here.
